HEALTHY BOUNDARIES
A Pre-Holidays Workshop
Sunday December 11, 2:00-5:00PM | Madrona, Seattle | $75
If there’s one time of year that tests our boundaries the most, it’s the holidays.
Between spending back-to-back time with extended family, navigating many competing expectations and needs, planning elaborate meals, finding the perfect gifts, and nonstop cultural pressure to be merry and bright through it all…
This season can be exhausting!
In all of the intensity, one of the first things to go is our connection with ourselves—how we’re doing, what we need. It’s easy to get so swept up in making everyone else happy that we completely lose sight of our own experience, desires and limits.
Getting clear on the boundaries you need ahead of time is one of the best gifts you can give yourself this holiday season.
When it comes to feeling sturdy and calm at the holidays, proactive self-connection and planning is key.
None of us react well when we’re anxious, emotionally charged or out of touch with ourselves. Rather than waiting until your buttons are pushed and your resources are low, start anticipating the challenges early this year and taking steps to support yourself.
Join us for a cozy afternoon workshop to explore how you can set healthy boundaries at the holidays!
This 3-hour workshop will guide you to:
Slow down, tune in with yourself and acknowledge your most important needs and limits for the holidays
Surface and release what holds you back from feeling worthy of your boundaries and/or having the courage to express them
Prepare for challenging or triggering experiences and brainstorm realistic ways to take care of yourself
Practice graceful ways of setting kind yet clear limits with your loved ones
This workshop is for you if:
You find yourself bracing for chaos and reaching for your coping mechanisms as the holidays approach
You have a “just grin and bear it” attitude, and experience self-sacrifice as an inevitable aspect of this season
You notice yourself dreading social gatherings you feel like you’re supposed to enjoy, and feeling guilty for it
You experience anxiety every time you imagine trying to practice self-care in family settings
You have trouble setting limits with the people you love, and/or haven’t had success in having your boundaries honored
You want to feel less anxious about the holidays, and to get clear on what you would need to experience them with more ease
You want to feel worthy of and comfortable asking for your boundaries
You’d like to be able to enjoy quality time with family without feeling so guarded, reactive and resentful
