About Me

My Journey to Coaching

Welcome, dear human!

I’m Erin, your Empowerment and Connection Coach.

Nothing lights me up more than helping people experience new levels of well-being, fulfillment, connection, and joy—all by unlocking the inner freedom to simply be who they are.

But the art of authentic, empowered living isn’t exactly something we’re taught, is it?

At the age of 19, I craved experiences that would expand my heart and mind. It also became pretty clear that this kind of education wasn’t something I was going to find in a classroom. So, in the midst of my freshman year of undergraduate studies, I packed my bags and headed to Latin America, where I backpacked solo around thirteen countries for eight months.

Something inside of me was speaking, calling me forward. And for the first time, I answered the call.

During my time in Latin America, I learned what it felt like to live my life in accordance with my deepest intuitions. I learned how to listen to my heart and, in the process, trust the daily experience of simply being myself.

In the years that followed, personal losses—from the ending of a long-term relationship to leaving the Bolivian youth hostel my former partner and I had built together—propelled me down a path of deep inner work and healing. Along the way, I discovered a community full of people on similar journeys and connected with my first mentor, who helped me develop the skills, confidence, and courage to leave my day job, pursue coaching, and start my own business!

The truth is, I never set out to become a coach. I think that coaching found me.

Coaching was a calling to something I never knew existed. A life that not only needed my most essential gifts, but would be unable to thrive without them.

Gifts like deep listening and seeing, intuitively sensing the most efficient path through people’s inner obstacles, and bringing genuine warmth and compassion to people in their most vulnerable moments of breakdown and breakthrough.

As an Empowerment and Connection Coach, I’m here to help each of us learn the things we were never taught about simply being human.

  • Self-trust

  • Compassion—for others and ourselves

  • And our journey to knowing our deeply innate worthiness

This journey is never an easy or straightforward one. But it will take us to exactly where we’re meant to be, and to who we truly are. So let’s do this together.

My Coaching Style

My clients describe me as a mix between an emotional educator, a therapist, an intuitive healer, and a spiritual guide. My approach to coaching itself is always guided first and foremost by my intuition and experiential wisdom—regardless of which coaching tools I’m using during a session.

While most of my work focuses on topics like boundaries, codependency, and worthiness, my clients typically come to me for support with:

  • Feeling their feelings. All of them.

  • Finding their truth and speaking it with love, again and again.

  • Surfacing and transforming their inner obstacles and experiencing their deepest desires.

  • Building relationships with real depth, reciprocity, and resilience.

  • Trading self-criticism for self-compassion, and self-doubt for self-trust.

  • Accepting themselves, even when others don’t—and accepting others, even when it’s hard.

  • Meeting life with grace, grit, courage, and an open heart.

  • Mourning, forgiving, healing—and trying again.

Here are five things I believe about coaching (and why coaching with me is different):

  1. Our patterns don’t need fixing, they need healing. Together, we’ll unwind your patterns from the root, rather than just treating their surface-level symptoms.

  2. Grounded self-compassion leads us toward life-serving solutions. By settling your nervous system and opening your heart, you’ll gain new insights and learn to feel into the choices that are most aligned for you.

  3. The best answers come to us through our hearts, bodies, and souls. Rather than using logic and mental processes, we’ll focus on emotional attunement and surfacing your intuitive wisdom.

  4. We can’t think our way through our feelings. Instead of intellectualizing feelings, it’s important to feel them in your body—that’s the only way to truly partner with them.

  5. The most aligned choices for us are revealed through perspective-shifts and experimentation. Instead of prescribing rules for how to live, I’ll offer new paradigms for you to play with freely.

My Training

I have been studying empowerment, communication, spirituality, and personal and relational healing intensively since 2013. And, while my coaching is always deeply rooted in my intuition and experiential wisdom, I’ve also synthesized a toolkit that draws from a wide variety of powerful approaches, including:

Using this unique blend of modalities, I help my clients realize that there are powerful actions we can each take toward our well-being. And that even the smallest, most simple shift can bring deep and lasting transformation into our lives.

Some More About Me

If you’re curious about who I am as a person (and not just a coach), here are some things that might amuse you to learn about me:

  • I love reality TV shows that document transformation—Queer Eye, Tidying Up, Dream Home Makeover, you name it… Call me cheesy, but I seriously love getting teary-eyed watching people gush about the positive changes in their lives!

  • When I was little, my parents were distraught to find that I had cut open the comforter on my bed with a pair of scissors. When they asked me why I did it, I said matter-of-factly: “I wanted to see what was inside.” This pretty much sums up my approach to work and life, ha! I’ve always been fascinated by looking deeply into things and understanding their inner workings.

  • My husband and I met in our 9th grade Language Arts class at Garfield High School in Seattle. He was voted best dancer, I was voted best facial expressions (both still accurate). We were just friends back then, but we reconnected in 2018, fell in love, and got married in 2022. The rest is history!

  • I’m a highly sensitive person. I used to be ashamed of how overwhelming life felt for me sometimes, but now that I’ve learned to understand my high sensitivity and work with it not against it, I actually experience it as a superpower.

  • I’m an Enneagram 2, and a Splenic 2/4 Projector in Human Design. In other words: I love contributing to others, I was put on this planet to see things most people miss and to offer one-of-a-kind guidance, I have an insanely strong intuition, and I thrive when I can alternate between deep solitude and meaningful socializing.

  • When I was 19, I left a prestigious college and followed my heart to backpack solo through Latin America, knowing almost no Spanish. I journeyed through 13 countries in 8 months on a shoestring budget. I came home a brand new person, and a bona fide hispanohablante—I ended up minoring in Spanish, and even started my own Spanish tutoring business! I’ll always be grateful to myself for taking that adventure; it shaped me in more ways than I can express.

  • I adore everything Brené Brown creates. Her work has spoken to me powerfully since I first read “The Gifts Of Imperfection” back in 2011 (still one of my faves), and I always look forward to her podcast.

  • I played cello competitively in a youth orchestra for most of my adolescence. In my early 20’s, I traded in my cello for a ukulele (way more portable) and have been composing my own songs on the uke ever since.

  • I secretly love pranks. Nothing actually cruel, just playful ones. I’m too chicken to really do them on people, but watching them on TikTok or America’s Funniest Home Videos is kind of my happy place.

  • I lived in Hamburg, Germany for a couple of years in my mid-20’s. I taught English language pre-school by day and waitressed at an Irish pub by night. (Coincidentally, interacting with 3 year-olds and drunk people actually requires a very similar skill set, lol).

  • When people first meet me they see my friendly, composed side. But the people who know me the best know that deep down I’m a huge goofball! I love being silly, finding humor in unexpected places, exchanging funny stories, and having a good belly laugh.
